Ideal in a small workgroup looking for real value for their money, HP Laserjet 3600 is one of the cheapest and fastest compared to its competition. Physical body is quite heavy, but handholds are deep enough to provide better grip; one person can carry it without any help. Although well-designed, HP 3600 has limited expandability selections and some may also complain about its printing quality. Text printing is not blotchy but may appear grayish instead of black. Color printing details are accurate but produce blocky conversions. HP Laserjet 3600 runs in a 360 MHz processor and has 64 MB RAM (maximum) installed. Media handling supports many types: labels, glossy paper, transparencies, envelopes and recycled paper. Duty cycle is 50000 pages per month with consumable toner that can print up to 4000 pages. 

 

It supports Microsoft, Linux and Apple operating systems. Input tray capacity is 250 sheets but the tray feels shaky, so proper precaution is needed in pulling it out. Another disadvantage is the lack of duplexer option for this printer. If you want to fully extend your budget, you can go for generic discount toner cartridges that can provide the same, if not better, printing results.
