HP Deskjet 1050 is the printer that set off certain characteristics in other printers of HP. This is one of the all in one printer that can do the job of printing, copying and scanning with equal ease. The HP Deskjet 1050 runs on affordable ink generic ink Cartridge with no problem.
The HP Deskjet all-in-one printer has dimensions of 427 x 470 x 249 mm with the trays in open condition. This is a comparatively smaller printer that would comfortably be placed in the limited office space or the house. The scanner is found in the upper compartment. The scanner can be opened by opening the lid. The control panel can be found beside the scanner lid, on the top. The input tray found on the top of the scanner has to be opened to open the scanner. All the components are fixed in a very simple yet effective way. The tray extender of this printer is compatible for A4, A5, A6, B5 and DL envelope sizes. The tray has the capacity to have storage of 60 sheets or 5 envelopes. The output tray can hold about 25 sheets.
This HP baby has a very good speed of printing and with the generic cheap ink cartridges applied you can save so much more in print costs. The monochrome prints are at about 16 ppm with the A4 sized papers. 10 x 15 inch photos are printed in about 60 seconds. The first print out time for the monochrome is about 19 seconds with A4 sized papers while the color prints are printed at 26 seconds time interval. This is one printer that can take care of huge number of prints. Prints of about 1000 sheets are easily handled by it and prove how good the printer can work under stress. The resolutions of the prints are above average too. The monochrome has a resolution of about 600 dpi while the color prints have about 4800 X 1200 dpi. The resolution is again above average.
The scanner is flatbed and mounted on the top of the printer as already discussed. The resolution of the scanner is a delightful 1200 dpi considering the price and size of this printer. Color depth being an impressive 24 bit and can scan the pictures with amazing sharpness that one might have wanted. The optimized resolution of this printer is 600 dpi for both mono chrome and colored copies, but can scan copies with a resolution of 300 dpi, using A4 sheets and using generic ink. The printer then can churn up to ten copies of the same. This printer is compatible with a PC using Windows 7, Apples running on Mac OS x 10.5 / 10.6. The connection between the printer and the PC is through the USB 2.0 port. The power consumption too, is impressive at 10 W in active and 1.2 W in sleep mode.
